In order to camp in Singapore, you will need to apply for a permit from the National Parks Board. The application process is simple, and you can find all the information you need on their website. There are a few things to keep in mind when applying for a permit, such as the number of people in your party and the length of stay, so be sure to read the information carefully before applying.
What is a camping permit?
A camping permit is required for camping in Singapore. You can apply for a permit at any Singapore Police Force (SPF) Division or Neighbourhood Police Centre (NPC). The permit is free of charge.
To apply for a permit, you will need to:
- be at least 18 years old;
- have a valid identity card or passport; and
- produce a completed application form.
If you are approved, you will be given a permit that is valid for six months. You can renew your permit every six months.
Who can apply for a camping permit?
- You must be 18 years old and above.
- You need to be a Singapore Citizen, Permanent Resident or have a valid Student’s Pass/Long-Term Visit Pass.
- If you are applying as an individual, you must not have been convicted of any offence in the last 3 years.
- If you are applying as a group, no member of your group should have been convicted of any offence in the last 3 years.
When can I apply for a camping permit?
You can apply for a camping permit up to 2 months in advance, and no less than 5 working days before your trip.

How do I apply for a camping permit?
To submit an application for a camping permit, please fill in the application form and email it to NParks_Recreation@nparks.gov.sg.
A permit is required for all overnight stays in our parks and nature reserves, except within the registered camp sites at Pulau Ubin and Chek Jawa Wetlands. However, a permit is still required if you intend to bring along more than 10 people for your camping trip. Please note that only 1 application form is needed regardless of the number of people camping.
What are the conditions of a camping permit?
Each camp site has different conditions for visitors with regards to their stay. Do note that all camp sites require patrons to book and pay for their site before arrival. The main conditions of a camping permit are as follow:
-You are only allowed to stay for the number of nights specified on your permit.
- fires are not permitted unless provided in a designated fire pit.
-You are not allowed to cause any damage to the flora or fauna in the area, or remove anything from the camp site.
-When leaving, you must ensure that the area is clean and all rubbish is disposed of properly.
What are the fees for a camping permit?
The standard camping permit fee is $10 per night. Fees may be cheaper during the off-peak season (November to February). For more information on camping fees, contact the Camping Permits Office.
